Call for Papers 2025

2025 Annual Meeting

Louisiana Historical Association – 67th Annual Meeting

March 13-15, 2025 – Baton Rouge, LA

The Louisiana Historical Association invites proposals for its 67th Annual Meeting to be held in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, March 13-15, 2025.  The meeting will be headquartered at the Crowne Plaza Executive Center.

The 2025 LHA Program Committee invites sessions on any aspect of Louisiana History from any era, and is open to submissions that take unique approaches to session design as well as traditional scholarly panels. Proposals focusing on public history and/or digital history are especially welcome. Graduate students, archivists, and other public historians, such as curators and preservationists, are likewise strongly encouraged to participate.  We prefer to receive proposals for complete sessions but will consider individual paper proposals as well.

The committee prefers complete-panel proposals, including chair and commentator, but will consider individual paper proposals or sessions in need of chair and/or commentator. The program chair welcomes queries from session organizers.

Send proposals via email to:

  3. An abstract for each presentation, maximum 250 words.
  4. A brief curriculum vitae for each participant.

  8. All materials are to be e-mailed to the program committee at lahist@uark.edu

Please include the name, affiliation, and e-mail address of the proposal organizer in the body of your message. Queries may be sent to the program chair, Brian McGowan, at the same e-mail address.
