    (Thursday, March 21, 6pm) Food and Drink Reception at the Museum of the Southern Jewish Experience

    The Museum of the Southern Jewish Experience (818 Howard Ave., NOLA, 70113) explores the many ways that Jews in the American South influenced and were influenced by the distinct cultural heritage of their new homes. Through exhibits, collections and programs focused on the unique and remarkable history of Southern Jews, the Museum encourages new understanding and appreciation for identity, diversity, and acceptance.

  • Phi Alpha Theta Luncheon

    (Friday, March 22, noon) Buffet-Style Lunch, PAT Address, and Award Presentation (on site)

    Phi Alpha Theta is an American honor society for undergraduate and graduate students and professors of History. The society has over 350,000 members, with about 9,500 new members joining each year through 860 local chapters. The Louisiana regional meeting of PAT is held each year in conjunction with the annual meeting of the Louisiana Historical Association. It is a unique opportunity for students to present their historical research before an audience of experts within their field of study. The speaker at this year's PAT luncheon buffet will be Historian Henry Robertson of Louisiana Christian University.

  • LHA Banquet

    (Friday, March 22, 7pm) Buffet-Style Dinner, LHA Presidential Address, and Awards Ceremony (on site)

    The banquet of the Louisiana Historical Association is the high point of the organization's annual meeting. In addition to the presidential address, awards and honors are announced. This year's LHA presidential address will be delivered by Dr. Daniel Usner of Vanderbilt University.

    (Saturday, March 23, noon) Buffet-Style Lunch and History Address (on site)

    University of Louisiana - Monroe historian Jefferey Anderson, author of the forthcoming book "Voodoo: An African American Religion," will discuss his two decades of research, including field work in New Orleans, Haiti, Cuba, Senegal, Benin, Togo, and the Republic of Congo.
